Report: Montolivo set to sign fresh AC Milan contract
AC Milan and captain Riccardo Montolivo have agreed in principle to a three-year contract extension, according to Sky Italia.
With his current deal set to expire on June 30, Montolivo is apparently ready to build on the four years he's spent with the Rossoneri.
Supporters booed the 31-year-old as he touched the ball in Sunday's 3-3 draw with Frosinone, but fan discontent seemingly hasn't swayed management's decision on the skipper's future at the club.
The agreement, however, could be reversed if a new owner emerges within the next few months. An unnamed Chinese consortium is reportedly interested in the 18-time Serie A champion, with Alibaba founder Jack Ma also party to rumours.

News of the offer appears to be at odds with Milan's previous policy for players over 30. The Rossoneri famously allowed a 32-year-old Andrea Pirlo to leave the club after holding firm on a one-year deal. In fact, it was an agreement similar to Montolivo's that Pirlo had been seeking.
The 2006 World Cup winner ended up getting a three-year contract at Juventus, where he went on to win four straight Serie A titles.
Montolivo joined Milan in 2012 on a free transfer. He was named captain a year later following the retirement of Massimo Ambrosini.
