Arsenal loanee Szczesny pulling for Leicester title win

Still on Arsenal's books while on season-long loan at Roma, Wojciech Szczesny is pulling for Leicester City - not his parent club - to capture the Premier League title.

"Even though I support Arsenal in the Premier League, I'd like to see Ranieri's side win it. They're an example and an inspiration to everyone. It's exciting to watch them play," the rangy shot-stopper told Paul Vinnell from Sky Italia.

Well versed in the formulaic fortunes of the Premier League's "Top 4," Szczesny is as surprised as anyone by Leicester's unlikely title run this season.

"No one in football can explain the Leicester miracle," Szczesny added.

Szczesny, 25, joined the north London side in 2006 as a teenager and was named the first-choice 'keeper for the 2011-12 season, making 117 league appearances for Arsene Wenger's lot. Petr Cech's summer signing made Szczesny surplus to requirements, prompting his move to Roma in July 2015.

The 25-time Polish international has started 27 Serie A matches for Luciano Spaletti's third-placed Giallorossi, assuming the role played last year Morgan De Sanctis.

With Cech likely to be Arsenal's first-choice 'keeper for the duration of the four-year contract he signed upon his move from London rivals Chelsea, Szczesny is admittedly uncertain about where his future lies.

"Everyone knows I'm really happy here," he said. "I'd like to be able to tell you about my future, but I don't know what it holds for me."

"I've expressed my intentions to the two clubs and now it's up to them. I have to decide what's best for my career."
