Alexander Semin will get another chance to play on Friday night.

The Montreal Canadiens forward is in the lineup against the New York Islanders, due to the absence of Torrey Mitchell.

Semin has been held out of eight of the Canadiens' first 20 games, registering three points in 12 contests. He's been held pointless in five straight games since scoring in a win over the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 20.

Mitchell's condition will be updated after he goes through more thorough testing over the weekend. He didn't make the trip to Brooklyn after leaving Thursday's loss to the Arizona Coyotes with a lower-body injury.
