VIDEO: Hurricanes' Skinner zings game-winner top shelf vs. Avalanche

Two seasons ago Carolina Hurricanes forward Jeff Skinner notched 33 goals.

Those days look to be a distant afterthought, but the 23-year-old showed a glimpse of his goal scoring prowess.

Skinner looped around the Colorado Avalanche's net before sending a rising shot over Semyon Varlamov to give the Hurricanes a 3-1 lead midway through the third period.

What looked to be the insurance marker turned out to be the eventual game-winner after the Avalanche struck with 31 seconds left and the goalie pulled.

The goal was just Skinner's third of the season in his 11th game.
