The Columbus Blue Jackets are reportedly closing in on a contract with defenseman Justin Falk.
The Blue Jackets and Falk are nearing an agreement on a two-way deal, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
The blue-liner was acquired from the Minnesota Wild along with a fifth-round draft pick in exchange for defenseman Jordan Leopold in March.
Falk appeared in five games for the Blue Jackets following the trade, scoring a goal and adding an assist. He was held pointless in 13 contests with the Wild, but played 39 games for Minnesota's AHL affiliate in Iowa.
He is a pending restricted free agent.
