A little more time might have meant the world to the New York Islanders

After defenseman Travis Hamonic told reporters Tuesday he would have been good to go in Round 2 against the New York Rangers, blue-liner Lubomir Visnovsky said he also would have been available for the next round.

Visnovsky missed the final three games of the first round against the Washington Capitals after suffering an upper-body injury in Game 4 on a devastating hit by Tom Wilson. The Capitals went on to prevail in seven games and will face the Rangers in the second round.

The 38-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and said he would like to return to the Islanders next season.

Visnovsky had two assists in four games in the first round.
