Canucks' Baertschi make playoff debut in Game 5 against former team

Vancouver Canucks forward Sven Baertschi will play in Game 5 against the Calgary Flames, and it will be special for a couple of reasons.

Baertschi will make his playoff debut, and it will come against his former club, Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins said Wednesday.

"It'll be something special to play against them, especially in the playoffs with us having to come back," Baertschi said.

The 22-year-old was recalled prior to Game 4 on Tuesday but Linden Vey was inserted into the lineup instead.

The Flames defeated the Canucks 3-1, grabbing a series lead of that same margin.

Baertschi was drafted 13th overall by the Flames in 2011. He played parts of four seasons in Calgary before being acquired by Vancouver in March for a second-round pick in June's draft.
