Tanks are so hot this year.
That was the marketing strategy briefly employed by the National Hockey League shop's Twitter account Wednesday evening, as summer wear featuring the cellar-dwelling Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers, Arizona Coyotes and Toronto Maple Leafs was advertised with the following tagline:
The tweet was later removed, but will live on as a reminder of the year of the tank.
