Ovechkin passes Bondra for most multi-goal games in Capitals history

Geoff Burke / USA Today

Alex Ovechkin set yet another Washington Capitals franchise record by scoring twice in Sunday's loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Ovechkin, who is already the franchise leader in points, power-play goals, game-winning goals and shots, recorded his 94th multi-goal game to pass Peter Bondra for first on the franchise's multi-goal-game list.

Ovechkin is 19 goals shy of Bondra for the franchise lead in that category, and his 409 career assists place him just nine short of franchise leader Michal Pivonka.
