Sizzling Metro clubs earn praise in latest 3 Stars of the Week

The Metropolitan Division continues to reign supreme as the latest Three Stars of the Week confirmed.

Philadelphia Flyers forward Jakub Voracek, New York Rangers goaltender Antti Raanta, and Columbus Blue Jackets center Sam Gagner received the honors on Monday, the league announced.

Voracek was named first star after pacing the league with nine points, including six assists in four games. He became the first Flyers player since Eric Lindros to post four or more points in back-to-back games, meanwhile his play has his club riding a nine-game winning streak.

Raanta meanwhile has become the hottest ticket on Broadway. The coined "backup goaltender" has quickly stolen the crease from Henrik Lundqvist, creating a bit of a goalie controversy.

The 27-year-old claimed second-star honors after going 3-0-0 this past week, while putting up two shutouts and posting a .984 save percentage.

Gagner took home the third star after putting up a respectable three goals and three assists in three games. Keeping up with the Flyers, the Blue Jackets have put together an eight-game point streak of their own, earning them the first wild-card spot in the East.

Gagner now has 11 goals and 19 points in 25 games this season.
