Stamkos heading back to Tampa Bay to further evaluate injury

Steven Stamkos is returning to Tampa Bay on Wednesday to get more information on the injury he suffered Tuesday night, the Lightning announced.

The star forward sustained an apparent knee injury that the club classified as a "lower-body" ailment following a collision along the boards with Detroit Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist.

The Lightning will be in Buffalo for Thursday night's game against the Sabres, then in Philadelphia on Saturday to meet the Flyers, before concluding their five-game road trip in Nashville on Monday.
