Dubnyk, Landeskog throw punches after goalmouth battle

Altitude Sports

A lack of scoring is enough to raise tensions.

With the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche knotted at zeros midway through the third period, an innocent screen by Gabriel Landeskog was enough to get under the skin of Devan Dubnyk on Saturday afternoon.

The Wild goalie gave the Avalanche captain a nice wack of the lumber after a scramble in front, which Landeskog didn't take too kindly to. In turn, a rare flurry of fists was exchanged between goaltender and forward.

No harm was done after the dust settled, but minutes later, Landeskog would beat Dubnyk five-hole on the power play to give the Avalanche a 1-0 lead and end the netminder's impressive road shutout streak at 170:23.
