Avalanche sign defenseman Boikov to entry-level deal

The Colorado Avalanche signed Russian defenseman Sergei Boikov to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Friday.
The 20-year-old recently completed his third season with the QMJHL's Drummondville Voltigeurs, where he posted career-highs in goals (6) and assists (20).
Boikov was a sixth-round selection at last year's NHL draft and is likely to join the Avalanche's AHL affiliate - the San Antonio Rampage - next season.
