NHL Game Summary - Buffalo at Boston

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Loui Eriksson scored the game-winning goal 2:14 into overtime to lift the Boston Bruins to a 4-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday.

Eriksson took a touch pass from Milan Lucic through the neutral zone and fought off a defender before firing a shot through the pads of Jhonas Enroth for the win.

Dougie Hamilton finished with two goals and an assist, Chris Kelly also scored and Zdeno Chara added two helpers for the Bruins, who are 5-0-1 in their last six games against the Sabres. Tuukka Rask made 25 saves in the win.

Tim Schaller scored his first NHL goal, while Andrej Meszaros and Rasmus Ristolainen also lit the lamp for the Sabres, who have dropped their last three.

Enroth stopped 33-of-37 shots in defeat.

The Bruins pulled Rask with over a minute to play and it proved to be the right decision as Hamilton's rising wrister from the right circle made it a 3-3 game with 1:31 left in regulation to force an extra session.

Boston had Reilly Smith's power-play goal waved off due to goaltender interference just over five minutes into the game. Hamilton, however, one- timed a shot from the left circle seconds later to give Boston an early lead at 5:52.

Bruins defenseman Matt Bartkowski was given a game misconduct and had his first career fighting major. Marcus Foligno dropped the gloves with Bartkowski in defense of Sabres captain Brian Gionta, who was leveled at the blue line with under six minutes to play in the first.

Chris Stewart took a drop pass from Johan Larsson at the right circle and sent a cross-ice dish to Meszaros, who wristed the puck past Rask for a tie game 6:06 into the middle frame.

Ristolainen's shot was off the mark, but it deflected off Bruins defenseman Torey Krug and into the net for a power-play goal and a 2-1 Buffalo lead with 5:24 to play in the second.

Boston responded exactly a minute later as Kelly used his stick to knock down Chara's point blast and the bouncing puck fooled Enroth for a tied game.

Schaller, who was recalled from Rochester (AHL) prior to the game, gave the Sabres the lead just 1:27 into the final stanza.

"I used to go to games here growing up. I didn't even know how to celebrate," Schaller said of his milestone marker. "I'm excited to get the puck to my parents. That'll be special for them."
