NHL Game Summary - Carolina at Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jhonas Enroth turned aside all 35 shots he faced to backstop the Buffalo Sabres to a 2-0 preseason win over the Carolina Hurricanes at First Niagara Center.

Drew Stafford and Tyler Ennis each had a goal and an assist to pace Buffalo offensively, with Matt Moulson assisting on both markers. The two scores came against Hurricanes netminder Drew MacIntyre in the second period.

Enroth came up with 13 saves in the second period and 17 more in the third to finish off his shutout.

Hurricanes forward Jordan Staal broke a bone in his right leg in the third period after getting hit into the boards by Sabres defenseman Josh Gorges. He was unable to put weight on his leg and had to be escorted off the ice by a trainer.

He will be further evaluated by team doctors in Raleigh on Thursday. A timetable for his return to the ice has yet to be determined.
