Despite Andre Johnson bolting for their direct rival last spring, Houston Texans owner Bob McNair harbors no animosity towards the wide receiver.

Johnson was the face of the Texans' franchise for over a decade, holding numerous franchise records with the club. However, Johnson was reportedly asked to take a lesser role in the offense, balked at the suggestion, and signed with the Indianapolis Colts.

"We want him to come back and retire as a Texan," McNair said to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

McNair also revealed that the club is considering retiring his number 80.

"We'd certainly consider that," McNair said. "We're going to have a Hall of Fame for them and recognition in the stadium for them, but we have to decide if we want to retire jerseys."

Johnson was selected third overall in the 2003 NFL Draft out of Miami, and was selected to seven Pro Bowls, while leading the league in receiving in consecutive seasons (2008-09). It appears almost certain that Johnson will become the first Hall of Famer in Texans' history, so it's little surprise McNair wants to commemorate the 34-year-old's excellent career.
