Romo (collarbone) will undergo surgery next week to address a fracture in his collarbone, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis:

Romo will have a couple of options for the surgery, one being the attachment of a plate to the collarbone in an effort to prevent the injury from recurring. The other option is to shave down part of the bone where it meets the shoulder in what's known as a Mumford procedure. The quarterback has not yet stated which path he'll take, though he noted last week that he's leaning toward the former procedure. Either way, he's expected to face a recovery timetable of 6-to-8 weeks, which should allow him to be medically cleared for OTAs in May.
