Cowboys VP: 'We need another back to go with McFadden'

The Dallas Cowboys know they need more production from their rushing attack.

Darren McFadden led the team in rushing last season with 1,089 yards and three touchdowns on 239 attempts. Joseph Randle, who started Week 1 atop the depth chart, was released midseason, and has since been arrested multiple times. The Cowboys' front office is very aware of their current lack of depth at the position heading into the NFL combine.

"We do feel like we need another back to go with McFadden," executive vice president Stephen Jones said Tuesday, according to the team's official website. "Where we get that, whether it’s in the draft or whether we do it in free agency - a lot of different ways you can go there."

Only two seasons ago, the Cowboys boasted the NFL's leading rusher in DeMarco Murray.

Dallas still has one of the NFL's premier offensive lines, and it's clear the front office expects the rushing attack to be a real strength going forward.

The good news for the Cowboys is there are a number of intriguing options available to them in both free agency and the draft.
