Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was involved in an altercation with three off-duty police officers in Philadelphia over the weekend that left two officers with broken ribs, according to multiple reports.

The incident occurred at Recess Lounge in the Old City district late Saturday night/early Sunday morning, a law enforcement official told John Gonzalez of CSN Philly.

Former NFL running back Curtis Brinkley was also involved in the altercation, which began over "a dispute over the purchase of champagne," according to a police report.

Officers Darnell Jessie, Roland Butler, and Sergeant Daniel Ayers purchased four bottles of champagne and when Butler "moved to another location with his bottle," he was approached by former Pitt wide receiver Tamarcus Porter, who "tried to pull the bottle from his hand," the police report states.

An argument ensued "as to the ownership of the bottle," at which point McCoy, Brinkley, and Christopher Henderson "assisted (Porter)," the report continues. Butler was then knocked to the ground and "punched, kicked and stomped about his body and head multiple times."

Butler and Jessie were later hospitalized, according to the police report. Butler received treatment for a laceration to his right eye, a broken nose, broken ribs, and sprained thumb, while Jessie received stitches over his left eye and was treated for a possible skull fracture.

Dave Schratwieser of FOX 29 reports that there is no video of the brawl, but there is footage of the players and officers being ejected from the scene.

While neither McCoy nor Brinkley were arrested, they are the focus of a police investigation, Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI-TV reports.

The Bills released a statement Monday saying they are aware of the reports and will not provide further comment at this time.

McCoy spent six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded to the Bills in March 2015. Brinkley, a Philadelphia native, played for the San Diego Chargers from 2010-12.
