Redskins' DeAngelo Hall aiming to get back on field for training camp

Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall says he's feeling good in his recovery from an Achilles injury, but doesn't want to push himself to get back on the field too soon.

The 31-year-old spent most of Tuesday's practice session on the sidelines, though he was able to participate in some individual drills early on, according to Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWashington.com.

"I probably won't do anything until training camp," Hall said afterward. “So, right now, I’m probably just waiting until training camp starts before I get back out there on the field. Physically, I feel like I can do everything now. So, it's just precautionary.”

Hall appeared in three games last season before re-tearing his repaired Achilles while making pizza. Once healthy, he's expected to compete for the Redskins' starting cornerback job opposite Chris Culliver.

"He's doing well," head coach Jay Gruden said of Hall. "He's coming along very fast from the Achilles surgery. I knew he would be. He's at a stage of his career where he knows how important preparation is both on and off the field.

"Physically, he's got to get himself ready to go after that injury, and it's going to take some time but he has shown major, major improvements already and we're very pleased with where he is right now, (and) the thought of him being ready for training camp is exciting to all of us."
