Matthews hopes to be traded or released by the Dolphins, the Miami Herald reports.

Analysis:

While Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson are no longer in the team's wideout mix, DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Greg Jennings have been cycled in to work along with returnee Jarvis Landry. As is stands, Matthews slots in as the Dolphins' No. 5 option at the position, an assignment that doesn't carry a ton of field time with it. Matthews -- who caught 41 passes in 2013 -- recorded just 12 catches for 135 yards and a TD in 14 games in 2014.
