Chris Canty: Released By Ravens
Canty was released by the Ravens on Friday, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis:
Canty's contract wasn't all that unreasonable, but he's not much more than a solid veteran, and the Ravens have some interesting young talent on the defensive line. Assuming the 10-year veteran doesn't re-sign with Baltimore, his absence should clear the way for Timmy Jernigan to join the starting lineup in 2015. With just 21.5 sacks in his 10 NFL seasons, Canty has never been much of an IDP producer.
