Sherman presents defense of controversial play vs. Falcons

Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman defended himself Monday against accusations that he got away with defensive pass interference on a crucial fourth-quarter play against the Atlanta Falcons.

Holding onto a 26-24 lead Sunday with the Falcons desperately seeking a first down on fourth-and-10, Sherman appeared to grab Julio Jones with the ball still in flight. No flag was thrown and Falcons head coach Dan Quinn ripped into the officials.

Sherman tweeted out a video clip where Jones makes contact with his facemask before darting up the field.
