Bengals' Eifert to make 2016 debut vs. Browns

Mark Zerof / USA TODAY Sports

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert will make his 2016 debut Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

Eifert missed the first six games of the season due to an ankle injury suffered in last year's Pro Bowl. He was expected to return earlier, but a back injury sustained in practice set him back several weeks.

He could reportedly be on a snap count in his return, with the Bengals likely to use him as a red-zone target.

The return of the star tight end - who had 13 touchdowns in 2015 - will be a massive boost to a Bengals team looking to dig itself out of a 2-4 start.

Cincinnati is scoring just 18.2 points per game over the first six games of the season, the fourth-worst mark in the league.
