Vikings' Asiata to start in Peterson's absence

Minnesota Vikings running back Matt Asiata will get the starting nod Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, the team announced.
Jerick McKinnon was thought to be next in line for a featured role after Adrian Peterson's knee injury, so Asiata starting is at least a minor surprise.
Regardless of the official depth chart, though, both should see considerable work as the Vikings attempt to maintain a strong ground game to take pressure off Sam Bradford under center.
