Bills' Watkins will not play vs. Cardinals

David Butler II / USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins will be held out of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals as he continues to deal with a foot issue.

Watkins played through pain in each of the first two games after undergoing surgery this offseason, and he'd indicated that he'll continue doing so as the season moves forward. His status was up in the air this week after his foot was stepped on during a team walkthrough, though, and a Saturday night tweet that appeared to hint at his availability for Sunday's game has since been deleted.

Marquise Goodwin is first in line for starting snaps alongside Robert Woods in Watkins' absence.

The Bills will hope to get their star pass-catcher back in the lineup for next week's matchup against the division-rival New England Patriots.
