Chargers' Antonio Gates: Does not play Sunday

Gates (rest) did not play in the Chargers' preseason loss to the Vikings on Sunday.

Analysis:

As he has done throughout the preseason, the veteran tight end did not see the field despite being listed as active. That's not likely to change, either, during the team's fourth and final preseason game against the 49ers.
