Fisher's mom upset with his language on 'Hard Knocks'

HBO's "Hard Knocks" has once again exposed a coach's mother to her son's foul language. This season, Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher is the victim.

The first episode of the behind-the-scenes series premiered Tuesday night, featuring a handful of profanity laced rants by Fisher.

"I got one of these yesterday, 'Jeffrey!'" Fisher told ESPN on Thursday. "This is from Mom. So I said, 'Sorry, Mom. That's our world. I'll try to do better.'

"When I hear, 'Jeffrey!' It's uh-oh. Something went wrong."

The most prominent rant took place during a team meeting, when Fisher informed his players that he had cut receiver Deon Long for sneaking a woman into his dorm room. Fisher emphasized that every detail matters when trying to build a winner.

He specifically had an issue with the possibility of going 7-9 (again).

Fisher will do his best to please his mother, but brushed off the language as "part of the whole process."

"There are spontaneous things that come up, that, as coaches, you have to go and address," said Fisher. "So I addressed something that took place in the morning and wanted to get my point across. People can read into whatever they want. But that was me talking to the team as if the cameras weren't there. I was OK with what I said.

"I stopped at that point. I could have gone on. You don't know that I didn't go on because there's an edit guy there. So there's a lot of stuff that takes place that is edited."
