Before former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch headed into retirement, there were rumors that he felt he could do so because he'd yet to spend a single dime of the money he'd earned in his nine seasons in the NFL.

In an interview on Showtime's "60 Minutes Sports," however, Lynch refuted the speculation.

"That’s false," Lynch said, according to Sports Illustrated. "I'm human. I'm very much human. If you pinch me, that hurts. I make mistakes, (but) I've also made some good decisions. But why would you wanna pocket-watch me?"

Lynch was believed to have earned around $5-million per year in endorsements during his time in the NFL, making the talk that he'd saved nearly $50 million in earned salary a realistic possibility.

Lynch also confirmed his retirement from football in the interview.
