Lynch confirms retirement: 'I'm done playing football'
It's not often an NFL player has to field questions about whether he'll play football again after announcing his retirement, but Marshawn Lynch is no ordinary (former) football player.
Because of his tardiness in filing official retirement paperwork, Lynch sparked rumors he might return to the NFL this fall.
Not so, he says.
In an interview on Showtime's "60 Minutes Sports," the onetime Seattle Seahawks running back confirmed he's retired for good.
"I'm retired. Is that good enough? Which camera do you want me to look into? This one? I'm done," Lynch said while appearing to get slightly agitated.
If that wasn't enough, Lynch punctuated the point by stating flatly, "I'm not playing football anymore."
It may take until Week 1, and perhaps beyond, for everyone to truly believe Lynch's playing days are over, but it appears likely that's the inevitable outcome.
Lynch's appearance is set to air Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
