Jason Pierre-Paul won't be celebrating 4th of July

For New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, the 4th of July isn't a time to celebrate.

Pierre-Paul infamously almost lost his hand in an incident involving fireworks at last year's 4th of July celebrations, and essentially lost a season of his career because of it.

So this year, JPP has elected not to take any chances.

"I won't be in the United States," Pierre-Paul told Ralph Vacchiano of New York Daily News. "Where I'm going, they don't celebrate 4th of July."
