Aaron Rodgers takes page out of Tom Brady's cookbook

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is following Tom Brady's lead when it comes to nutrition.

The 32-year-old has eschewed his 80/20 rule (eating 80 percent healthy and enjoying the other 20 percent) in favor of a stricter diet that could help him play longer.

"To be honest, Tom Brady is an influencer there because of the stuff he talks about, and how healthy he is," Rodgers said, according Jason Wilde of ESPN.com.

Brady has famously espoused the benefits of a diet that includes 80 percent vegetables - as long as they're not peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, or eggplant - and recently put out a $200-dollar nutrition manual to aid those on their quest for eternal health.

For Rodgers, a two-time NFL MVP, the decision is just another challenge.

"I think it is all about finding ways to challenge yourself. And one area I've really focused on is working with Adam with my nutrition, and really thinking hard about that," he said after OTA practices last week. "We've talked about it the last few years, but even more this year - just trying to be smart about my eating habits."
