Giants' Rodgers-Cromartie absent from OTAs

New York Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was not present at the team's OTA practice Monday.

It's unknown why Rodgers-Cromartie was absent from the workout as there's been no reports of injury or a contract holdout to date. Head coach Ben McAdoo did not sound pleased, however, when asked about DRC's absence.

"If he's here we'll coach him, if not we wish him nothing but the best," McAdoo said, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.

It's possible Rodgers-Cromartie, a 2015 Pro Bowl selection, is miffed by the Giants' selection of Eli Apple with the 10th-overall pick in the draft, in addition to the huge contract the team gave Janoris Jenkins in the offseason.

The workouts are voluntary so the issue will not become significant until training camp begins or DRC makes it known he's unhappy. It's likely the Giants' starting corner is simply using his veteran status to enjoy the offseason.
