NFL Game Summary - NY Jets at New England

Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - It wasn't pretty, but it was still a win for the Patriots.

Thanks to a defense that recorded four turnovers and sacked Geno Smith four times, New England held on for a 13-10 win over the New York Jets on Thursday night.

Still feeling the effects of the departure of several key offensive weapons in the offeseason, and injuries to a few of those still remaining, Tom Brady was a subpar 19-for-39 for just 185 yards and an interception as New England (2-0) won its fifth straight game against the Jets.

With Danny Amendola out for a possible six weeks with a groin issue, and Rob Gronkowski still recovering from offseason forearm and back surgeries, Julian Edelman was the bulk of the offense as he caught 13 passes for 78 yards. Aaron Dobson caught the lone touchdown of the game for the Patriots, who have won 14 straight games against AFC East opponents.

Smith led the Jets (1-1) to victory last week with a game-winning drive against Tampa Bay, but was picked off three times in the fourth quarter with his team down by three. He finished the game 15-for-35 for 214 yards. Bilal Powell's touchdown run in the third quarter was the only time the team found the end zone.
