Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Arsenal? Don't get your hopes up just yet.

Several British outlets reported Friday that the Gunners were considering making a move for the Swedish striker when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires this summer, but manager Arsene Wenger was quick to rubbish that speculation during a press conference later in the day.

Speaking ahead of his side's weekend contest against Everton, the French bench boss dismissed the notion that his side is in the race to bring the decorated 34-year-old striker to the Premier League.

"At the moment, no, we are not on that case," Wenger told reporters. "We have other worries at the moment. It's short term and we are not on Zlatan's case. Even if at 34 he is having a great season at Paris Saint-Germain."

The imposing attacker has scored a league-leading 27 goals in Ligue 1 this season, 13 more than his nearest rival (teammate Edinson Cavani). With Ibrahimovic leading the line, Paris Saint-Germain romped to a fourth consecutive title, wrapping up the crown last week with eight matches to spare.

Regardless of how dominant Ibrahimovic has looked this season, Wenger was adamant that his focus has not shifted to the transfer market just yet.

"Look, at the moment you can understand that my priority before the Everton game is not to go on about the transfer market (and talk about) the possible signings for next season," he said. "On that front I am just surprised by the name you throw at me. At the moment, no we are not thinking of signing anybody."

Though Ibrahimovic could be had on a free transfer at the end of the season, his age and likely astronomical salary demands could both prove to be stumbling blocks for any marquee side looking to bring him aboard.
