Tuesday's Center Value Rankings
Here are theScore's center value rankings for Tuesday, March 8:
Top Options
NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
---|---|---|
Jason Spezza (DAL) | at MON | 10 |
Mark Scheifele (WPG) | vs. NAS | 9 |
Joe Thornton (SJ) | at EDM | 9 |
Joe Pavelski (SJ) | at EDM | 8 |
Tyler Seguin (DAL) | at MON | 8 |
Tyler Johnson (TB) | vs. BOS | 8 |
Although Seguin has more upside, Spezza is the Stars center to roster on Tuesday. Spezza has scored in three straight games, Montreal's goaltending is questionable at best, and he has 30 goals with 66 points in 57 career games vs. the Habs. His reasonable price tag checks off all the boxes.
Scheifele has picked up the slack in a big way with the season-ending injury to No. 1 center Bryan Little and the trade of captain Andrew Ladd. Scheifele has a ridiculous nine goals and five assists in his last nine games. Nashville is a good defensive team, but G Pekka Rinne has been inconsistent all season.

The Rangers send out a balanced attack of three solid lines, but it's unclear which center will have the back night. There's a high chance that at least one of them will playing a Sabres team on the second game of a back-to-back.
Pageau has been great in the absence of Kyle Turris. He has nine points in as many games. Zack Smith has been known as a grinder his whole career, but a shift to the wing has brought out untapped offensive ability. He has six goals and nine assists in his last nine games. He plays on Pagueau's left wing.

Ryan Johansen (NAS) | at WPG | 5 |
Dylan Larkin (DET) | at CLB | 5 |
Frans Nielsen (NYI) | vs. PIT | 5 |

David Krejci (BOS) | at TB | 3 |

Galchenyuk is dealing with an upper body injury, but he does have three multi-goal games in his last six outings.
Eichel will be playing in his second game in as many nights and shouldn't be worth consideration against Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers.
Miller is now fulfilling fourth line duties and isn't worth DFS consideration.
