The Washington Wizards will be without guard Bradley Beal for their upcoming three-game road trip, which begins Tuesday night at the Moda Center against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Beal, 22, didn't travel with his Wizards teammates after suffering a pelvic sprain during Saturday's narrow 100-99 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

The earliest he'll be able to play is when Washington returns home for a meeting with the Detroit Pistons on March 14.

Beal has already missed 21 games this season due to injury, including a 16-game stretch with a stress reaction in his right fibula.

Injuries have been a common occurrence over the course of his four-year career. In fact, by adding the three outings he's set to miss, Beal will have officially sat 25 percent of his games because he was hurt.

In 41 appearances this season, Beal is averaging a career-high 17.8 points on 45.4 percent shooting, along with 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 30.7 minutes for the 30-32 Wizards, who are 1.5 games back of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
