Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov will make his first start in two weeks Saturday night.

Varlamov will play against the Winnipeg Jets in his first game since Jan. 23, Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy confirmed Friday.

"He worked hard yesterday and this morning with (goaltending coach) Francois (Allaire)," Roy said.

The netminder missed two games while appearing in a civil trial prior to the All-Star break and backed up Calvin Pickard in two contests (losses to the Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks).

Varlamov was ultimately cleared of assault and battery, while his girlfriend was ordered to pay him more than $100,000 in damages.

The 27-year-old was named the NHL's first star of the week on Jan. 25. He's 19-12-3 with a 2.59 GAA and .918 save percentage in 35 games.

The Avalanche have lost two straight contests after reeling off five wins in six games.
