Brazilian racing star Felipe Massa has unwittingly confirmed compatriot Alexandre Pato's move to Chelsea with an Instagram post.

An exit from Corinthians has long been in the cards for Pato, and rumours of a move to the Premier League champion intensified when the English transfer window swung open at the start of January.

His signing is intended to address Chelsea's goal-scoring woes this season. Diego Costa has recently sprung into life with five goals in as many league outings, but the side's next highest scorers are midfielders Oscar and Willian with three apiece.

Should former AC Milan man Pato put pen to paper soon, Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round trip to Milton Keynes Dons could afford the forward a fine opportunity to acclimatise to life back in the northern hemisphere.
