The Toronto Blue Jays announced the hiring of Mike Murov as director of baseball operations on Sunday.
Murov had worked in the Boston Red Sox organization since 2010, and most recently served as the team's assistant director of major league operations.
Under his new role with the Blue Jays, Murov will support baseball operations in creating and implementing decision making systems and processes. He'll also assist in the preparation of the analysis of financial, statistical, and contractual information, according to the team's release.
Murov is one of a number of new hires the Blue Jays have made since president Mark Shapiro took over in early November.
