West Ham co-chairman David Gold confirmed Sunday that winger Manuel Lanzini faces another spell on the sidelines, shortly after returning from a thigh injury that kept him out for a month.

The Argentinian, on loan from Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira, returned from his previous injury in a 2-1 victory over Southampton on Dec. 28, but fell to this latest issue against Liverpool five days later.

Gold was answering a question on Twitter when he revealed "Lanzini will be out for five to six weeks."

Despite his spell at the club being on a temporary basis, a move to make Lanzini's stay in east London permanent is imminent, according to multiple reports. The transfer cost is believed to be in the region of £7.4 million.

In the 22-year-old's stead, Victor Moses could make his first appearance since early December. The Chelsea loanee is on schedule to return from a hamstring injury for Saturday's trip to Newcastle United.
