Chicago Fire trade winger Patrick Nyarko to D.C. United
The Chicago Fire have traded winger Patrick Nyarko to D.C. United in exchange for a natural second-round draft pick (33rd overall).
"I have always embraced challenges and at this particular point in my career, these challenges take me to another city," Nyarko said in a statement. "I want to thank Andrew Hauptman and the Chicago Fire Soccer Club for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this historic organization. I will forever cherish the experiences and memories that I have accumulated during my time in Chicago."
Thank you my @ChicagoFire family.

The deal was first reported by the Washington Post's Steven Goff earlier in the day and confirmed by the club on Wednesday afternoon.
Known for his speed out wide, the 29-year-old has struggled with injuries in the past two seasons, having made just 19 appearances last season. He joins a D.C. United team looking for new wide players, having traded away Chris Pontius to the Philadelphia Union and picked up Lamar Neagle from the Seattle Sounders.
