Bucks' Vasquez aims for late-January return

After undergoing foot surgery that coach Jason Kidd said would sideline him three-to-four months, Greivis Vasquez is well ahead of schedule, according to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times.

The 28-year-old is no longer on crutches, according to Woelfel, and is aiming for a return by month's end.

After being acquired on draft night this summer, Vasquez has failed to make a positive impact for Milwaukee this season. In addition to missing a number of games, the Maryland alumnus is shooting just 34.8 percent from the field and 25.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Jerryd Bayless has fared well as the team's backup point guard in Vasquez's absence. The Arizona native is averaging 12 points and 3.7 assists, and shooting 43.6 percent from 3-point range.
