After glowing reports from close friend and Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is looking to snap up Leicester City teenager Ben Chilwell for a fee believed to be in the region of £4 million.

The highly rated left-back has been on loan at Huddersfield since November and has impressed in his seven appearances for the Yorkshire outfit. Barry Hunter, Liverpool's chief scout, is among several keen followers of Chilwell's progress in the Championship.

According to the Telegraph's John Percy, Leicester is ready to fight off interest in its talented youngster, with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, which had a £3.5-million bid rejected in the summer, also sniffing around.

Chilwell is expected to return to King Power Stadium in January with Christian Fuchs the only available left-back due to Jeffrey Schlupp's hamstring issue, which has sidelined him for four matches.

The Telegraph has numerous players linked with Liverpool in what's expected to be a busy January transfer window. Marko Grujic's move from Red Star Belgrade looks inevitable, while Schalke duo Joel Matip and Leroy Sane are also rumoured for a switch to Merseyside.
