Serbian outfit Red Star Belgrade has accepted a €7-million (£5.1M) offer from English side Liverpool for 19-year-old midfielder Marko Grujic, the club announced on Wednesday.

Liverpool trounced a €2-million offer from Anderlecht and a €5-million deal from Stuttgart, offering €7 million and 10 percent of Grujic's next sale, which the Serbian side accepted. As such, Grujic will join Liverpool next summer, at the end of the season.

"All in Red Star sincerely want to see Marko Grujic playing in our uniform for the next 10 years, but the financial situation of our club dictates the adoption of a different decision," the club wrote in a statement, as quoted by the Guardian.

Grujic is a member of the Serbian under-21 team and was a part of that country's World Cup-winning side during the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The highly-touted midfielder joined Red Star Belgrade out of the club academy and has made 22 Serbian league appearances in three seasons, scoring five goals.

"Marko Grujic (is) a player that continues to develop in one of the biggest clubs in the world; the club is probably the dream of every player on the planet.

"We are convinced, just like the people from Liverpool, Marko Grujic has the quality for a great club and that in England he can make a great career."
