The year is coming to a close and although the 2015 MLB season will be remembered for the Kansas City Royals and their return to the top of the mountain after a 30-year hiatus, there were many players who contributed to the greatness of the campaign and had supporters wanting more.

From a flock of new youth to some old-time favorites, here are 10 players the fans just couldn't get enough of in 2015.

Bartolo Colon

Colon has endeared himself to supporters as a jubilant 42-year-old who's still pitching at the big-league level and has some behind-the-back tricks. He'll continue to grab the attention of fans everywhere for at least one more year after signing a contract with the New York Mets.

Carlos Correa

The American League rookie of the year took baseball by storm when he debuted in June, and didn't look back as he helped the Houston Astros make the playoffs with his true five-tool ability. A talent such as his doesn't come along often, and fans can't get enough of the 21-year-old superstar.

Bryce Harper

Harper's 2015 season was one for the ages. He posted dominant hitting numbers and earned his first MVP award. Whether he was hitting deep long balls or getting into dugout skirmishes, when Harper's name was mentioned, the fans stopped to listen.

Francisco Lindor

The smile. It's gotta be the smile. OK, aside from owning the best smile in baseball, Lindor's one of the brightest stars in the game today. His electric playing style brought new life to the Cleveland Indians.

Salvador Perez

Perez is a hardworking, humble, and a genuinely nice guy who helped lead the Kansas City Royals to their first title in 30 years. The catcher became one of the most likable players in baseball after he kept on tickin' after taking a lickin' during the postseason en route to a World Series MVP.

Yoenis Cespedes

Cespedes played with a flair that fit the Big Apple perfectly. Upon arriving in New York, he became a citywide sensation who helped transform the team into a World Series contender, while becoming the favorite player of many New Yorkers, including Jerry Seinfeld.

Anthony Rizzo

Rizzo is beloved in Chicago. Just check out how much attention each of his tweets receive. He's become a young leader on an up-and-coming Cubs squad that's looking to end a century-long World Series curse.

Marcus Stroman

Everyone loves an underdog and Stroman plays the angle as good as anyone in baseball. From his "Height Doesn't Measure Heart" campaign to his interaction with the Toronto Blue Jays fan base on social media, the young hurler has built himself quite the following. More impressive, he's done it with electric stuff on the mound.

Dee Gordon

"Speedy Dee" broke out in 2015, winning a batting title, Gold Glove, and Silver Slugger while leading the NL in stolen bases. He managed to do it all while dunking basketballs during postgame interviews and becoming a popular social media force. The future is bright for Gordon, who's one of the Miami Marlins' many budding stars.

Alex Rodriguez

Everyone's eyes were on A-Rod after missing the entire 2014 season due to a season-long suspension, and the 40-year-old delivered his best season in nearly half a decade, helping the Yankees to the postseason. A-Rod's season became one of the most compelling story lines of 2015, and he ended his incredible year with a cherry on top, showcasing his impressive skills in the broadcast booth to millions during the playoffs.
