DFS: Saturday's Defenseman Value Rankings

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA TODAY Sports

Here are theScore's defenseman value rankings for Saturday, November 28:

Value Rankings
C | W | D | G

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Ryan Suter (MIN) vs. DAL 10
John Klingberg (DAL) at MIN 9
Brent Seabrook (CHI) at LA 9
Rasmus Ristolainen (BUF) at NSH 8
Roman Josi (NSH) vs. BUF 8
Brent Burns (SJ) vs. CGY 8
Erik Karlsson (OTT) at ARI 8

While Klingberg is crushing it on the stat sheet - tied with Karlsson for the league lead - he doesn't have the extra counting stats like blocked shots that make Suter slightly more valuable Saturday night.

Seabrook and Ristolainen are consistent, though not as prolific at tallying points as their counterparts. They are both cheaper than the others atop the rankings - Burns and Karlsson being the most expensive choices - and have been providing good boosts lately.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
Kris Letang (PIT) vs. EDM 7
Dustin Byfuglien (WPG) at COL 7
Francois Beauchemin (COL) vs. WPG 7
John Carlson (WAS) at TOR 7
Oliver Ekman-Larsson (ARI) vs. OTT 6
Erik Johnson (COL) vs. WPG 6
Shea Weber (NSH) vs. BUF 6
Kevin Shattenkirk (STL) vs. CLB 6
P.K. Subban (MTL) vs. NJ 5
Oscar Klefbom (EDM) at PIT 5
Johnny Boychuk (NYI) at TB 5

Good value can be had, especially with the Avalanche's duo of Beauchemin and Johnson as they host the Jets. Letang is in the middle of an excellent stretch and while he hasn't been scoring, he's been involved. He's also blocking close to two shots per game. Subban costs more than most of his contemporaries, but while he's excellent, his DFS output is not good enough to separate him that much.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Dion Phaneuf (TOR) vs. WAS 4
Alex Pietrangelo (STL) vs. CLB 4
Mark Giordano (CGY) at SJ 4
Drew Doughty (LA) vs. CHI 4
Colton Parayko (STL) vs. CLB 4
Andrei Markov (MTL) vs. NJ 3
Morgan Rielly (TOR) vs. WAS 3
Jeff Petry (MTL) vs. NJ 2
Kris Russell (CGY) at SJ 2

Don't go for the Leafs against the Capitals. Same goes for the Flames in San Jose. Parayko has quieted more than people may have anticipated as Shattenkirk has returned. Petry, on Montreal's second defensive pairing, will probably not factor into relevance.
