Cavs' Mo Williams to sit out Saturday due to ankle swelling

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Mo Williams will miss his second straight contest Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks due to a swollen right ankle.

Williams sat out Thursday's contest against the Milwaukee Bucks with what was called leg soreness, but he was further examined and underwent an MRI on Friday, which revealed posterior ankle inflammation.

The 32-year-old one-time All-Star has had a renaissance in his second go-around with the Cavs, which has reunited him with former Cleveland running mate LeBron James. Williams is averaging 15.5 points and 5.3 assists per game, shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from distance.

His surprisingly efficient play has helped paper over the absence of Kyrie Irving, who is recovering from surgery to a fractured kneecap and may not be back until January.

With both Irving and Williams sidelined, the Cavs have turned to third-string point guard Matthew Dellavedova, who gave them 39 solid minutes and a career-high 13 assists in Thursday's win.
