With Tuesday's international friendly between England and France going ahead as scheduled, London's Wembley Stadium will welcome the French national team with the country's motto emblazoned on the building's facade.

With origins in the French Revolution, specifically Maximilien Robespierre's seminal speech "On the organization of the national Guard," the tripartite motto translates to "liberty, equality, fraternity."

France's national anthem, La Marseillaise, will also be sung prior to the match, with lyrics appearing on the stadium's big screens as a show of solidarity with their neighbours to the south.

In light of Friday's horrific attacks in Paris and at Stade de France in St. Denis, security has been increased for Tuesday's friendly, according to Deputy Assistant Commissioner Peter Terry of London's Metropolitan Police Force.
