VIDEO: Toews catches Backes with hit to head

There was some captain on captain physicality Saturday night.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews caught David Backes of the St. Louis Blues with a shoulder to the head late in the first period:

Toews appeared to be retaliating for Backes' hit on Marian Hossa moments earlier. Toews was given a minor penalty, which came under 21 seconds remaining in the opening frame.

Backes left for the dressing room prior to the first intermission, but he returned to the bench early in the second period.
